Son of Major George Michael Bedinger. Fortunately his dates are set forth in the book, p220, George Michael Bedinger: a Kentucky pioneer, By Danske Dandridge. Here the author wrote: "The third son of G. M. Bedinger and Henrietta, his wife, was Benjamin Franklin, born June 14th, 1797. He died Sept. 7th, 1872. On the 29th of June, 1820, he married Sarah Everett Wade, daughter of David Everett Wade, one of the first emigrants from New Jersey to Cincinnati. B. F. Bedinger studied medicine at the Surgeon's College in Philadelphia, but never practised, much to the disappointment of his friend, Dr. Drake, who had a high opinion of his talents."

It is the descendants of this Bedinger line whom many are related to my Cilley/Poole line of Cincinnati, about whom my second cousin, Harry Harwood Garrison II, now sadly deceased, would often tell stories over holiday dinners.

Thanks to findagraver, Alford Genealogy (#47121947) for adding the lovely photo of Dr. Benjamin Franklin Bedinger I!

Communication Feb 2014:
It appears as though other findagravers have noticed a discrepancy for his death place. Thank you to findagraver Todd Whitesides (#47553735) for pointing this out. The Canadian town of Port Sarnia stated in the clipping explained below, seems to be the town of Sarnia--so this change has been made. If this is not correct do advise.

Findagraver Jodi (Cohen) Bolden (#47413860) posted a lovely newspaper clipping she dated as 1871. This year of death seems to be also stated in this Cinti Enq. article. The year above which I cited was 1872. So 1871 or 1872...rechecking my photo of the tombstone also seems to read, 1871. So I am altering his death year to 1871. Thank you so much for the terrific article!

Note: For any further edits, detailed/verifiable sources will need to be cited in square brackets. Thanks!
