Rosco Wright

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at The Door Church at 3875 Main St., Springfield, for Rosco Edward Wright of Springfield, who died Nov. 11 of congestive heart failure. He was 87.

He was born Oct. 1, 1925, in Eddyville to Joseph Grant Wright and Julia Mary Keyniston Wright.

He married his wife, Coreen, on Feb. 5, 1989, in Springfield.

He served in the Navy during World War II. He received a masters of fine arts from the University of Oregon and was an art teacher for Oregon public schools, art and color theory instructor at Montana State University and at Lane Community College for 26 years until his retirement.

Survivors include a son, Mark, of Eugene; five daughters, Silvia Blackburn of Spokane, Melissa Odom of Portland, Deborah Michlanski of Springfield, Suzanne Robinson of McMinnville and Kristine Johnston of Springfield; two brothers, Lorn C. Wright of Gladstone and Clarence N. Wright of Spokane; three sisters, Rosie J. John of Mount Vernon, Luella N. Plumer of Tillamook and Elthaleta M. Williams of Tillamook; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Tricia M. Jackson.
