Amherst resident dead at 105

Amherst-One of Lorain County's oldest residents, Mrs. Dessie Kilmer, 105, died last night at 10:30 in the Lorain Convalescent Home, 1882 East 32nd. St., Lorain, where she had lived for 19 years.

Born Dessie Dickensen in New Haven, Ohio, one of 11 children, July 2m 1860, in her early 30's she married Cassius M. Kilmer and moved to Amherst where she lived for more than 50 years. An active church worker, she was a member of the Amherst Methodist Church for 70 years. She and her husband, who died in 1935, had no children.

Survivors are her niece, Mrs. Frank Wilford, Elyria, daughter of a sister of Mrs. Kilmer, and several great-nieces and nephews.

Friends may call tomorrow at the Garland Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, the Rev. Robert W. Sutherland, minister of the Amherst Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Crownhill Cemetery.
