Joseph Martin Krueck, 88 years of age, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a brief illness.
He was born November 27, 1923 in South Amherst. Joseph was a lifetime resident of South Amherst and graduated from South Amherst High School in the class of 1943. Joseph was employed at Ohio Edison for thirty-three years before retiring in 1987 as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst. Joseph Loved gardening, and watching John Wayne movies. He enjoyed going to the Lorain County Fair and watching horse pulls and his many trips to the Amish Country. Joseph was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan.
Survivors include his son Donald Joseph Krueck of South Amherst; and his sister Annette Vandersommen of Elyria. he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Barbara Ann Krueck (nee Vollmer) on June 18, 2007; his brothers Fredrick, William, Walter and Jack Krueck; his sisters Ruth Schreiber and Marie Berger, ad his parents, Walter Adam and Mary Katherine Krueck (nee;Collins)
Friends may call Wednesday, July 111m 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 111:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
