Dorothy Ann Daywitt was born on Feb. 20, 1937, to Donald and Violet (Decker) Chapin at Winner.
She grew up near White River and attended a country grade school. She graduated from White River High School, and married Larry on May 26, 1955.
They moved to Lead in December 1965. She worked for the Lead-Deadwood schools as a custodian, retiring in July 2001, and also worked as a Sunday school teacher, missionette worker, and Sunday school superintendent.
Her parents and two brothers, Donald and Duane, preceded her in death.
Dorothy Ann Daywitt died on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at the Assemble of God Church in Lead. Visitation was held on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., at the Assemble of God Church and until time of service on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009. Burial followed at Mountain Lawn Cemetery near Lead.

A memorial has been established in Dorothy's name.
