JAMES JELETT, age 86, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Thomas and Mary Jelepis, where he lived until enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving a majority of his three years in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Following the war, he came to Columbus and enrolled at the Ohio State University. During that time he met Nikki Condas, his future wife. Jim founded Metro Industries, a major industrial supply firm in 1966. Jim is a longtime member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, and served on the Parish Council for 38 years. He was also instrumental in continued growth of the church starting with the first major remodeling project up through the most recent Cathedral Complex.

Survived by wife of 63 years, Nikki; son, Dean (Ann) Jelett of Worthington; daughter, Maria (Dennis) DeRado of Cortland, New York; grandchildren, Stacy (Nick) Klousiadis, Alex DeRado, Jim Jelett and Andy DeRado; step grandchildren, Dennis (Lisa) DeRado and Tony (Elaine) DeRado; 5 step-great-grandsons; brothers, Leonard Jelepis and Chris (Jan) Jelepis of Westchester, Pennsylvania; sisters, Becky (Jimmy) Giakoumatos of Trinity, Florida ans Elsinore Jelepis of Twinsburg, Ohio; many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by brother, Mike Jelepis and sister-in-law, Helen Manis.

Friends may call Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 2990 Bethel Road where Trisagion service will be 7:30 p.m. Funeral will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High Street in Columbus. Father Demetrios Gardikes officiating. Interment Union Cemetery.
