Tanza LeeEta Chappell, 83, died May 17 at the local hospital.
Funeral services were held May 20 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
The Rev. James Brown officiated at the services.
Mrs. Chappell was born Feb. 5, 1902, in Coryell County, daughter of the late Dan and Lena Brown. She attended school in Gatesville and was a music major in college. She was married to the Rev. N.C. Chappell, who preceded her in death in 1968.
She had also lived in Nacogdoches and in Oklahoma City. She was a retired music teacher and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Benita Womack and Mrs. Pecolia Nunn, both of Gatesville; and three brothers, Glen Dell Brown and Elgie Brown, both of Gatesville, and the Rev. James Brown of Waco.
Her nephews served as pallbearers at the funeral.
