Patrice Merle (Gray) White died peacefully Thursday, November 15, 2012, with loved ones at her side.

Patsy was born on May 27, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the beloved daughter of James and Merle Gray. Her father was in the tire business and when she was two, moved with her parents to Boise where he opened up Motor Tire Service.
She attended elementary school in Boise along with North Jr. High and Boise High School. Patsy attended University of Idaho and was a Member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Her degrees were in Art and Psychology.

While attending the U of I she met Forrest White. They married after graduation on July 4, 1952. To her great joy they had two sons, Michael and Daniel. Patsy always wanted the best for her family and friends. As her sons married she accepted their wives as daughters. The true apples of her eye were her grandson Daniel, and granddaughter, Kristina.

Throughout her life Patsy was involved and active wherever she went. She started her career doing artwork for an advertising agency and later taking over and becoming principal owner of Motor Tire Service, the business started by her father.

Patsy was an avid golfer and tennis player. She enjoyed Alpine skiing. Golf was her passion, and she was a longtime member and part of the group that founded Crane Creek Country Club serving at one time as the president of the Women's Association. Many days were spent on the golf course or at the country club with friends.

Patsy was an accomplished artist and painted throughout her life. She presented her paintings in art shows and sold a number of her pieces. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and was a voracious reader.

After her divorce and retirement, Patsy traveled, spending time in Newport, Oregon, Sequim, Washington, Sedona, Arizona and Queen Creek, Arizona making many good friends at each stop. She returned to Boise 12 years ago.

Patsy cherished her lifelong friends, often saying, they were "more like sisters". There was hardly a day in Patsy's life that she didn't have the companionship of a dog. Some of her favorite dogs were Tina, Wolf, Tag, Cid, Toby, Ruffy and her present dog, Boyo.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael and Daniel and their wives, Monica and Kazuko, respectively as well as her two grandchildren, Daniel and Kristina.

A gathering for family and friends will be on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 7 pm until 9 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home. The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, November 21st at 2:00 pm at St. Michael's Episcopal Church.
