Born in Newborn, GA, he was the son of the late Charlie and Jeanne Carter Robertson. He graduated from Newborn School, Covington High School, Emory at Oxford and the University of Georgia. Walker served in the U.S. Army in the Veterinary Corp during World War II. Following his military service he returned to the family farm in Newborn. In 1959 he joined the faculty of the University of Georgia College of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service. Walker served as the County Extension Agent in Coweta and Schley Counties and as the District Director of 4-H Club Programs in Southwest and Southeast Georgia. Later he was a member of the State 4-H Club Staff. Walker retired in 1982 and received Emeritus Faculty Status from the University of Georgia Board of Regents. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
Services were Friday, April 21, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Rev. Benson Bottoms officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Georgia 4-H Club Staff (current and former), Gaines School Road McDonald's Coffee Group, Classic City Pilot Club and Tuesday Morning Buddies.
Survivors include his wife, June Boatright Robertson (1942-2023); 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren.
