Maude Carr was born in Wood County, Ohio
on December 25, 1874, and passed away on
December 9, 1940 at the age of 65 years, 11
months and 14 days.
When she was three years old she came with
her parents to Kansas, living in the Elm
Creek neighborhood for several years. Later
they moved to a farm east of Frankfort,
Kansas where she grew to womanhood. She
married to John McKee on March 25, 1893.
to this union was born six children; two of
whom died in infancy, and two sons and
one daughter have preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband
John of the home; and a daughter, Mrs. C.E.
Anderson, Topeka, Kansas; one brother, Dell
Carr, New Mexico and many friends.
She was converted in 1894 and united with
the Methodist Church in Frankfort during
the pastorate of Reverened J.L. Miller. For
the past nine years she has experienced a
lingering illness which has deprived her
of many privileges, but thru it all she has
been cheerful and confident in her faith.
The funeral services were held at Oelkers
Funeral Chapel in Frankfort on December
11 at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend F.E. Bonham
and Reverend O.J. McColloh officiating.
Pallbearers were James Welsh, John Lobley,
Ralph Rose, L.L. Packard, Dr. M.O.Coleman
and John Chidester.
Interment was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
