Clifford Arthur "Art" Carson, 40, died August 4, 1994 at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City after a courageous and valiant battle with transitional cell carcinoma.
Born November 9, 1953 in Tooele, Utah to Clifford Llewellyn and Annette LaRue Farr Carson. He was a member of the LDS Church and held many leadership positions in church and school. Graduated from Tooele High School in 1972, listed in Who's Who in American High Schools and was a National Merit Finalist and an Eagle Scout. He received his Duty to God Award. He served a Portuguese-speaking LDS Mission in the Brazil Sao Paulo North Central Mission 1973-1975, and attended BYU. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force from February 11, 1977 to February 10, 1981, playing trumpet in the Drum and Bugle Corps while at Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas, and trained as a German Linguist Analyst, stationed in Monterey, California; San Angelo, San Antonio, Texas; Berlin, Germany; and Washington, D.C. areas. Served with the U. S. Navy in Panama March-September 1984 as a Spanish Linguist while serving in the U. S. Navy Reserve. He was employed in warehousing and warehouse consolidation and engineering, working for Unisys, Sperry, Holmes Engineering, Rockwell International, Parvis Corp. and Westronix. He enjoyed wood cabinetry construction, and working in the entertainment industry and appeared in commercials, television and movie roles. He loved his family, especially his father, mother, sisters, nephews and nieces. He devoted his life to serving and caring for others.Survived by his mother, LaRue Farr Carson, Tooele; two sisters, Mrs. Gary Baker (Emma), Missoula, Mont.; Mrs. Alan Nielsen (Sarah), West Jordan; four nephews and six nieces, Nathan, Rachael, Kristie, Marcus, and Katrina Baker, Missoula, Mont.; and Jennifer, Holly, Annette, Matthew, and Mark Nielsen, West Jordan; many uncles, aunts, and special cousins. Preceded in death by his father, Clifford L. Carson; nephew, Andrew Carson Baker; and by his grandparents.
