Howard RIGGS, Nurseryman, Dies

Prominent Madera nursery-man Howard L. Riggs, 49 died early today at his home at 140 North Park Drive.

A resident of Madera for 33 years, Riggs had owned and operated Riggs Nursery here for 14 years. A native of Clovis, Riggs was prominent
on the Madera business scene. He died after a brief illness.

Riggs was a member and past master of the Madera Masonic Lodge, past patron of the Order of Eastern Star, and past president of the San
Joaquin Valley Chapter of the Nurserymen's Association.

Surviving are his wife Cuma, son Larry, daughter Mrs. Camelia Gage,(now Brincefield), grandson Howard Arthur Gage and mother Mrs. James A. Riggs all of Madera, a brother Riggs of Dinuba and a sister, Mrs. Helen Beck, New Orleans.

Howard Riggs much loved and adored for his great sense of humor.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Chapel of Light in Fresno. Cremation will follow. R. C. Jay and Son is in charge of local arrangements.
