He was a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and was retired from the Naval Air Systems Command.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Ocean View Masonic Lodge 335.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Anne Gail Cross of Norfolk and Mrs. Cynthia Linda Stiglitz of Sims. pury, Conn.; two sons, William Wirt Moore III and Charles Douglas Moore of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Raine of Richmond; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Aaron D. Smith. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, has charge. The family is at his home.
