WESSINGTON - James Miller 75, of rural Wessington, died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Welter Funeral Home with Marion Cain officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Wessington.

James W. Miller was born in Cedar County, Neb., Jan. 4, 1904, to James and Jenny Miller. In 1906, the family (*moved) to a farm in Hand County, southwest of Wessington where his life was spent in farming. He spent some time traveling with his brother, Roy, to Hawaii, Alaska, and various places in the United States and Mexico.

After failing health in 1977, he entered Weskota Manor Nursing Home, Wessington Springs.

Survivors include two brothers, Clyde of Wessington and George of Wessington Springs; a sister, Mrs. Rena Diest, Huron; 17 nieces and nephews, 39 grandnieces and grandnephews and several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Sam, Roy, Fred and Wesley.
