Dorothy was born July 11, 1930, in Salem, Mass. She was the daughter of the late John D. McKay and Agatha M. (Foster) McKay of Marblehead, Mass.
She was a 50-year member of Crescent Chapter #45, Order of the Eastern Star in Northwood, and loved playing her broom stick instrument with the Hill Billy Stompers, whose main charity was David's House. She was also a founding member and long time volunteer for the Northwood Rescue Squad.
Survivors include four daughters: Merry Graves Jennison, and her husband Douglas, Brenna Graves Peabody, and her husband Thurston, Lonna Graves Basham, and her husband James, Audrey Graves MacKenzie and her husband Bruce; one son: Robert W. Graves, Jr. and his wife, Linda; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Three brothers: W.L. Donald McKay, of Sebastian, Fla., John (Jack) McKay, of Marblehead, Mass., and Alden McKay of Miami, Fla.; 5 sisters: Jean Dodge of Dugspur, Va., Joyce Booth of Marblehead, Mass., Teddi McKay of Barefoot Bay, Fla., Marilyn Ploss of New Boston, and Julie Harrington of South Yarra, Australia.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Robert W. Graves, Sr, just six months ago.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at 3 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd (Rt 4) Lee, NH, with Rev. Dwight V. Meader officiating. Light refreshments with be served downstairs following the service.
Burial will be Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Ridge Cemetery, Northwood, where her ashes will be placed with her husband and they can rest together through eternity.
