Michael John (Eddie) Lance, 46, of East Stroudsburg, died on Sunday, March 15, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Joeann E. (Howey) Lance, at home.
He was born in East Stroudsburg, a son of John and Julia (Andrews) Lance, II of East Stroudsburg. He had been a resident of Monroe County his lifetime. He was a member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
He was employed by the Instrument Specialties Company in Delaware Water Gap as a punch press operator, prior to that he was employed by Carbon Products as a punch press operator for 4 years and prior to that by the former Stroudsburg Bedding for 21 years.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two daughters, Tammy Lyon of East Stroudsburg and Michelle Lance at home; two sisters, Dorothy Eilber of Stroudsburg and Gloria Bentzoni of Brodheadsville; three brothers, Donald M. Lance and Edward Lance, both of Stroudsburg; John Lance of Delaware Water Gap; a granddaughter, Kayla Lyon; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, at 11 a.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with the Rev. Dr. Thomas C. McGill officiating.
Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Bushkill Emergency Corps, Bushkill, PA or the Marshalls Creek Fire Company, Marshalls Creek, PA.
