James Christopher Cawthon born in Tennessee, moved with his family to Holly Springs, Marshall Co., Ms., sometime around 1840, came to Texas in 1857. His father was Christopher Christian Cawthon, born in N.C. and his mother was Mary Mackle Burns, born in Tennessee. He was married to Mary Evelyn Casey on Nov. 2, 1870. They were the parents of ten children, one stillborn and one died in infancy.
