Funeral services were held August 3, 1965 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hayti for James Alvie Walker of Route 3, Steele, who died August 2 at the hospital in Hayti.

He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Walker leaves the following: his wife, Nettie Mae Walker; two sons, Warren Walker and James Walker, both of Steele; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Earl Adkins of Caruthersville; Mrs. Raymond Britton of Caruthersville, and Mrs., Jim Norrid of Holland; five brothers and three sisters; and twenty grandchildren.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Howard Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Carrol D. Hardy, Callie E. Walker, William H. Lunbeck, Ernest P. Johnson, Ivan O.Kramer and Ethyl Hudson
