Paul was a U. S. Navy Veteran and was a member of the Mathews Lions Club. For thirty-eight years, he was the founder and owner of Yankee Hone Precision Machine Shop. Paul was a member of First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where he was in the Dust Busters Sunday school class.
He was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Herrick; a brother, Richard Herrick; and a sister Myrtle Elaine Herrick.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children: Cindy Lou Lake of Nebraska, Donald Ristow of South Carolina, Kathleen B. Herrick of Connecticut, Theresa Crosby of South Carolina, Janice Marble of Massachusetts, Robin Zordan of Connecticut, Matthew Herrick of South Carolina and James E. Ristow of Virginia; a brother, Steven Herrick of Texas; eighteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in the old sanctuary. Burial will be held at a later date in Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor, Maine.
The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Mission Fund, 2107 First Mount Moriah Road, Greenwood, SC 29646.
The family is at their respective homes.
