Mrs. Arrisa Sbockley.

Mrs. Arrisa Shockley, wife of David Shockley, died at her home Tuesday, March 13th. The deceased was born at Haney's Corner, Ripley County, October 20, 1875. She was a member of the Christian Church having joined in her seventeenth year. She leaves a mother, brother, husband and many friends to mourn her loss; but we weep not as those who have no hope, for she died sound and strong in the faith. She had a kind word for all, and will be sorely missed by those who loved and knew her best. She bore her suffering with patience, and seemed to us an innocent, tender hearted
child. While we think of the many tokens of love shone the lines of the poet come to us
"In the cold moist earth we laid her,
When the forest cast the leaf,
And we wept that one so lovely
Sbould have a life so brief.
Yet not unmeet it was that one
Like that young friend of ours,
8o lovely and so beautiful,
Should perish with the flowers."
