She was a 1963 graduate of Hannan Trace High School. She was a member of Mercerville Baptist Church and attended Victory Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a member of Alley Cats Bowling League at Skylane Lanes. Elaine enjoyed bowling and yard sales.

a son, Richard (Gracie Dotson) Barnes of Gallipolis;
a daughter, Rhonda (Jim) McCarty of Crown City;
grandsons, Ricky Barnes of Gallipolis and Travis McCarty of Crown City;
brothers, Donovan Sanders of Gallipolis, Dillard (Luree) Sanders of Scottown, and Faron (Allison) Sanders of Gallipolis;
sisters, Shirley Nolan of Vinton, Carolyn (Lockhart) Donnet of Gallipolis, Brenda (Larry) Burris of Vinton;
several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews;
a host of friends;
