"His parents were John and Catherine (Wise) Limbert, the former a son of Peter Limbert, a farmer by occupation, and the latter a daughter of Frederick Wise, a carpenter.......Henry J. Jackson is the oldest in the family of seven children, the others being Rebecca.....John......Frederick.....Catharine....Benjamin....and Samuel."
Page 603 details his marriage to Catherine Long on March 20, 1856 in Rebersburg, and his children (Josiah, Harvey, John, George, and William H).
According to this biography, Henry Jackson learned carpentry with his father, "with whom he came to Madisonburg." It also shows that his father, John Limbert, "came to Centre county, and being a carpenter by trade aided in the construction of the "Miller Hotel" in Madisonburg.....At that place he was married in 1833 and returned to Union county, where he worked at his trade until the early "fifties" when he returned to Madisonburg."
I believe that his mother's maiden name (Wise) is misspelled in this record and should be spelled "Weis," according to her father's gravesite. I haven't checked through the Biographical Record to see if there are any more references to Peter Limbert or the Weis', although I knew of John Limbert's record of "falling through the roof" during the construction of the Miller Hotel in Madisonburg and where the hotel was located at that time. When I was growing up in Snydertown and visited my grandparents in Madisonburg, the hotel at the end of Madisonburg was a grocery store/post office; don't know what it is now.
