Graveside funeral services for T. Fred Thompson, 83, of 1307 9th St. So., Nampa, who died Sunday in a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Dr. James O. York Sr., pastor of the Nampa First Christian Church, officiating. There will be no cortege and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel.
He was born on April 2, 1898 at Tacoma, Wash., where he was reared and educated. He later moved with his family to Nevada and then to Idaho. He farmed in Marsing. He married Genevieve L. Langabeer on Nov. 6, 1926 at Tacoma, Wash. Following their marriage they made their home in Marsing where they farmed. In 1933 they moved to Nampa and he continued farming in Marsing until he retired in 1963. He was a member of the Nampa First Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two sons, T.F. "Tommy" Thompson Jr., Coeur d'Alene, and Jack A. Thompson Sr., Marsing; a sister, S. Olive Bess, Caldwell; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Thompson.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
