Julieta Amador Garcia

In the death of Julieta Garcia, wife of Prof. Fabian Garcia, a Las Crucen lost a most valuable person, one universal loved.

The death of Mrs. Garcia occurred Sunday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. A.N. Daguerre of Mundy Street in El Paso.

Death was due to bronchitis, although her condition was grave, death came unexpected and suddenly to the family. Her husband, brothers and sisters were with her during her last hours. All the loving hands and skilled physicians can do was to no avail. She reach the end of her earthly pilgrimage, and like "one who wraps the drapery about him and lie down to pleasant dreams" She fell asleep.

The deceased was one whose influence was felt on the city.She was not one who gave her aid publicly or solicit praise from the public but a quiet and unassuming christian woman. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and requiem mass was held in St. Genevieve's Tuesday morning at 9:30 and interment was made in the family lot in the Catholic Cemetery. Many floral tributes were provided by family friends.

Julieta Amador was born in Las Cruces November 24, 1882 and was 33 years of age at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Amador. The father died February 27, 1903 and the mother February 1, 1907. They were one of the earliest settlers of this section, living in the community prior to the Gadsden Purchase by which this section was annexed to the American Union. Their children were raised here. Surviving members; J.E. Amador of El Paso, Frank Amador of Las Cruces, Mrs. A.N.Deguerre, Mrs. Clotilde Terrazasand Mrs. Frank Campbell all of Las Cruces.

The deceased was educated at the Loretto Academy of Las Cruces and married Fabian Garcia on August 14, 1907. To this union was born one child born May 17, 1909 who died in infancy.
