A resident of Silver Lake, he was raised mostly in Cuyahoga Falls, graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1944, and attended The University of Akron.
Bill started a lifelong love of music in grade school. He played saxophone very well and belonged to many bands during his lifetime.
He started working at a very early age at his father's store, Leo's Swap Shop, then joined the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department for 30 some years and was one of the first paramedics. He worked for several furniture stores in the area, and had owned Perry's Furniture Store.
Bill was a 32nd Degree Mason and also belonged to the Tadmor Temple. He was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ.
He enjoyed fishing on Crystal Lake and twice a year he went to Canada to fish with his best buddies, also Falls Firemen.
He also helped with the Boy Scouts and Good Neighbors for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Jessie Bormuth; and his wife Ardis Marie (Kline) Bormuth, his one true love.
Survived by sisters, Jean Sears and Luella (Richard) Miller; Daughters, Kim Wallace and Becki (John) Hallahan; five grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Reid, Kelley Briggs, Steven Wallace, Beckie (Chris) Brewer, Michael Hallahan; and five great grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
