Funeral services were held for Marvin E. Howell, 89, of Lucedale on Monday, November 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. at George County Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Heath Havard and Rev. Dennis Laughlin officiating the services.

A World War II Army veteran, a chief steward in the Merchant Marines and a member of the Baptist faith, he died November 9 in Leakesville.

He is survived by his son Marvin (Vicki) Howell; daughter Marcella (Herman) Havard; grandchildren Kailey Havard, Nick (Logan) Havard, Morgan Havard, Jeremy Howell and Tabitha Howell; and great grandchildren Dustin Howell, Destiny Howell and Brynlee Howell, all of Lucedale.

He was preceded in death by his wife Loray Prescott Howell and parents Will and Cammie Howell.
