Mr. Miller had been visiting his daughter Mrs. H. J. Eaton of this city, and two weeks ago, went to Rockford to visit and celebrate his birthday, which was Thanksgiving Day. Mrs. Eaton accompanied her father to the Illinois city, and was at his side when stricken.
Mr. Miller was well known here. He had large land interests in Iowa and Tennessee, and spent his winters on his southern estate. His wife died seven years ago.
He leaves five daughters. Mrs. E. W. Vogel of Quincy is a granddaughter. The funeral will be conducted in Newell, Iowa, this week.
