Jimmie Lee Norris was born November 30, 1932 to the late Alex and Lishie Norris, in Sabine Parish. Jimmie Lee was the third of four children. Two brothers, Willie and Lonnie Norris preceded him in death. He joined Macendonia United Methodist Church at an early age, left and returned. He married the late Jessie Bell Jones. To this union one child was born, Jessie Deloris. With very little education he accomplished much. He obtained jobs that allowed him to support himself and help others that were in need. He was at his best when he was working in the woods. He was a trucker, lumberjack, and mentor for co-workers. He shared many enjoyable stories with the family, which provided lots of laughable moments. He loved to sit, drink his coffee, and just talk and laugh with people. He was indeed a people person. He obtained much pleasure from visiting the sick and encouraging them. Most of his visits were early morning visits. He followed many rough, tough, rocky roads in life, but as he would say, "The Good Lord brought me through." The Good Lord did bring him through until time to depart this part of his life, on November 10, 2012, at The Bradford Guest House. He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Jessie Deloris Thomas, Shreveport, Louisiana and Wayne Mullen of Many, Louisiana, one sister, Mae Dean Newton, Shreveport, Louisiana. He also leaves grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Florein, LA. Interment will follow in Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel in Shreveport and from 11 p.m.
