Mrs. Walter Smith Dies:
After being seriously sick with typhoid fever for more than 3 weeks, Mrs. Walter A. Smith died at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the family residence, 1214 Fillmore. Street. Peritonitis, which set in at 2 o'clock yesterday morning was the direct cause of death.
The deceased was the wife of Walter A. Smith, of the First National Bank, and the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. A.C. Sherman of 109 E. Tenth Avenue. She was also a sister of Adrian Sherman of Kansas City, who was called to Topeka yesterday and arrived at the bedside shortly before his sister's death. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Parr of Chanute and a little daughter, Dorothy, aged 2 years.
Mrs. Smith was only 24 years old and was prominent in society. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from Mrs. Smith's former home in Rossville. Interment will be made in Rossville Cemetery. The body will be taken to Rossville on the 10:30 train Friday morning.
