She was born on April 18, 1943 in Monroe County, Indiana to Elmer C. and Lilly May (Wagner) Cain. Nola worked with Jerry Lawyers Execu Clean for over 9 years. After her retirement she became a homemaker taking care of her family and her pets. She enjoyed camping at Freedom River and tending to her garden where she had the nicest flowers in the neighborhood. Nola was a fan of IU sports and enjoyed watching golf on TV.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer L. Thomas, Jr. in 2000; brothers, Jack Howard, Ray Chapman, and Cleo "Junior" Dougherty; and great-granddaughters, Addison and Allana Burgess.
Nola is survived by her children, Kevin Thomas of Monroe County; Tammy Jo Baugh and husband Tony of Monroe County, Ramona "Cricket" Deckard and fiancé Mark Sparks of Bloomington; and Rebecca "Becky" Thomas of Owen County; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Alice Thomas of Monroe County, and Donitta Kay Pfaff of Owen County; and her beloved pets, Sheeba the cat and Doc the dog.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
