Johnnie Wilson Abrams Sr., 83, a native of Canoe and resident of Wawbeek, died April 26, 1998, in an Atmore hospital. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Vesta Abrams; a daughter, Betty Ann Adams; a brother; and three sisters. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny W. (Bubba) and Kitty Abrams of Wawbeek; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Douglas Hale of Canoe and Frances Hershman of Pensacola; a sister, Ione Smith of Pensacola; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held April 28 at Sardis Baptist Church with the Revs. Evon Ingram, James Ivy and Johnny Fox officiating. Burial was at Sardis Cemetery with Atmore Memorial Chapel directing.
