Lloyd John Rood was born in Keeline, Wyo., on Aug. 14, 1920, the son of Oscar Albert Rood and Pearl (McDonald) Rood.
He grew up in the Manville area of Wyoming and was graduated from high school there in about 1938. Following military service with the U.S. Army in New Guinea in the South Pacific during World War II, he returned to Lander. He came to Riverton in 1972.
Mr. Rood was a mechanic who worked for Tom Atwood and Ted Eckley.
On Nov. 27, 1944, He married Annie Elizabeth Warpness in Lander.
His family said Mr. Rood wrote music and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Elizabeth Rood of the Pioneer Home in Thermopolis; sons, Donald Lloyd Rood and his wife Linda of Riverton, Albert Oscar Rood and his wife Jean of Riverton, and Aaron Lee Rood and his wife Theresa of St. George, Utah; daughters, Mary Ann Naish and husband Fred of Cheyenne, and Holly Rae Long of Riverton; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Rood of Lander; a sister, Irene Glandt of Lander.
He was preceded his death by a brother, Kenneth Rood, and a sister, Edna Shippen.
