DAWSON NEWS---December 1984
Marvin Elmer Schramm, 62, well known Dawson merchant, died December 4 at Palmyra Park Hospital in Albany. He had been in the hospital for only a few days but had been ill for several weeks.
Graveside services were held Thursday afternoon, December 6, at Cedar Hill with the Rev. James Mallard, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
A native and lifetime resident of Terrell county, Mr. Schramm was born October 26, 1922. His parents were the late Mercer Schramm and Flora Dell Schramm. He owned and operated Schramm's Grocery Store on Main Street. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dawson Lions Club and Veteran of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include four children, Rusty Schramm of Augusta, Suzanne Schramm of Albany, Brenda Peavy of Cuthbert, and Rucker Smith of Dawson; six grandchildren and three brothers. Wilber Schramm of Dawson, Jeff Schramm of Americus, and Calvin Schramm of Edison.

Harvey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
