Othar 'Mac' Copeland
Othar "Mac" Copeland, age 83, of Crestview, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, at his home. He was born in Crossville, Tenn., and moved to the area in 1983. Mac retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service, and a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era, he was employed as an interstate semi driver after he retired.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy Copeland; three children, Diane Atkinson, Juanita Copeland and David Copeland; three step-children, Delbert Waltermire, Allen Waltermire andCynthia Purvis; one brother, Bob Copeland; two sisters, Margaret and Bonnie Stone; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at the chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Chaplain Jim Vail officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, on Friday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m.
