Swea-Eagle: Andrew Larson, Eagle Township farmer for the last 50 years, passed away Tuesday, June 14, at the age of 81. Mr. Larson was born May 21, 1879, in Sweden and came to the United States as a young man. He was married to Anna Holmar April 22, 1915, at Algona. Survivors include Mrs. Larson; four sons, George of San Diego, Calif., Gordon of Culver City, Calif., Gunnard of Armstrong and Glenn of Long Beach, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Wetter of Torrance, Calif.; Mrs. Glen Crossley of Ames and Mrs. Oscar Berven of Armstrong; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Christine Thorson of Armstrong and Mrs. Ida O'Green of Swea City also survive. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Swea City with the Rev. LeRoy Pillman officiating. Burial was in Harrison township cemetery. Organist was Mrs. Gregory Diem. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Thoreson and Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Tweeten sang. Honorary pallbearers were John C. Johnson, Thomas Thompson, John Drew, Arthur Andersen, Sirgurd Sjorblom, Lloyd Thorson, Harold Swanson and Phillip Holcomb.Pallbearers were: Ralph, Sam, Luverne, Leonard and Harvey Larson. Friends and relatives attended the services from California, Duluth, Minneapolis and Fairmont, Minn., Ruthven, Mason City, Armstrong, Swea City and Ames.
