Joseph F. Chaney, 85, of Lumberton, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

Joe was born February 16, 1927 in Mayflower, Texas to Joseph and Mamie Lee (Burnham) Chaney.

Joe entered the Army in 1945 and proudly served his country during WWII until being honorably discharged in 1947. Joe then served 3 years in the Army Reserves. Joe was employed by Gulf States Utilities Company for 35 years and later retired in April of 1990.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph L. Chaney and Mamie Lee Burnham Chaney; wife, Maryann Chaney; grandson, Lawrence Keith Chaney Jr., and a sister, Ernestine Lowry.

He is survived by his son, Lawrence Keith Chaney Sr.; daughter, Nancy Ann Richardson and husband Donald R. Richardson Sr.; sisters, La Rue Greenwood, Helen Clawson, Justine Tinkle and husband Larry Tinkle Clarabell Hamm; grandchildren, Kristie White and Donald Ray Richardson Jr., and great-grandchildren, Macy White, Brinn Richardson and Trent Richardson.

Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
