Maureen O. Brazwell, 69, of Salinas, passed away on Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, from lung cancer at her home.
She was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Dustin, Okla.
Maureen was a longtime resident of Greenfield. Until 1992, she had resided there with her husband, John Brazwell, for 45 years. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Maureen dearly loved each of her children and grandchildren. Over the many years of raising children, she saved all the cards, letters, crayon-drawn pictures and mementos that each child and grandchild gave her. These items meant so much to her and gave her such comfort as she fondly looked back on her life. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing in her spare time along with going to bingo with her friends.
Maureen will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Hulet and Lena Sullivan of Modesto; her only sibling, Jean Gilbert of Modesto; and her husband of 34 years, John Brazwell.
Survivors: Children, Margaret Horton of Santa Cruz, David Wildes of Vallejo, Joey Brazwell of Turlock, Mavis Perez of King City, Melinda Martinez of Merced, Maretta Tufts of Salinas, Martha Brazwell of Salinas; grandchildren, Misty, Michael, Jordan, R.J., Chastity, Samy, Zaidee, Tori, Amber, Matthew, Mark, Adriene and Robert; and great-grandchildren, Adam, Logan, Hunter and Elizabeth.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas; with Pastor Jerry Boutry of Salinas Valley Community Church officiating.
Burial: Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Arrangements: Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas.
