Mrs. Melissa Ball, of this vicinity, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Josie Compton at Diamond, Tuesday afternoon, November 13. Although she had been in poor health for some time, her condition was not considered serious until a few days prior to her death. She had been suffering from asthma with caused her death. Funeral services were held at the Pepsin Church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Robb. Burial was made in Gem Cemetery, beside her husband, who preceded her in death several years ago.
The deceased was born in Iowa, was about 65 years of age and a member of the Christian Church. She leaves to mourn their loss, an aged mother, Mrs. Rachel Hall, three sons and five daughters, namely; Walter and Joe Ball of these parts; George Ball of Duenweg; Mrs Dora Davidson of Ritchey; Mrs. Ocie Henbest of Cassville; Mrs. Effie Carter, Mrs. Josie Compston and Mrs. Nellie Armstrong; also several grandchildren and one great grandchild. She leaves two brothers, three sisters and a host of friends, who gathered at the church to pay their tribute of respect to one who was loved by all and who will be so greatly missed. The sorrowing children and other relatives have our deepest sympathy in their bereavement.
