Dr. Alfred Taylor Bennett.
Funeral services for Dr. Alfred Taylor Bennett, 94, a retired physician, who died at 10:00 Tuesday night at St. Anthony's Hospital, will be held at 2:00 Thursday at Maas' Chapel. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Dr. Bennett, who served as a physician during the War Between the States, was a native of Ohio County, Kentucky. For many years he practiced in the West End, having an office for some time at 28th and Kentucky.
Dr. Bennett was believed to have been the oldest alumnus of the old Kentucky School of Medicine, which became the School of Medicine of the University of Louisville. He also was the sole survivor of the class of 1861 at the university.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Rickert Bennett; a granddaughter, Mrs. L. F. Waller, and two great-grandchildren.
