Roy Franklin Hensley, son of the late John T. and Mary Alice Mitchell Hensley, was born August 25, 1906 in Ozark County, Missouri and departed this life November 10, 1977, at 7L10 p.m. at his home, Bakersfield, Missouri at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 15 days.
He was united in marriage April 19, 1937 at Gainesville, Missouri to Laura Frances Bushey.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Frances Hensley, Bakersfield, Missouri; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Belle Bohannon, Rock Bridge, Missouri, and Mrs. Lena May Appl of Springfield, Missouri; three sons, George Roy Hensley and Tommy D. Hensley, Bakersfield, Missouri, and Claude Franklin Hensley, Dora, Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Hooper, Gamaliel, Arkansas and Mrs. Martha Davidson, West Plains, Missouri; one granddaughter whom he and Mrs. Hensley reared, Rose Ann Hensley, Dora, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Thurlo, Huey, and Elmer, and one daughter, Rose Mary Felts.
He was a member of the Church of Christ of Bakersfield. He was a retired farmer and laborer.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Baptist Hill Church with Evangelist Wayne Stewart officiating.
