Connie Mary George, 84, died Monday, April 12, 1993 at River Oaks Nursing Home, Steele, Mo.

Born July 28, 1908 at Holland,Mo., she was a daughter of Travis Monroe Manning and Hettie White.

On August 4, 1928 in Mississippi County, Arkansas, she was united in marriage with Bill George. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1992.

A member of First Baptist Church, Steele, she was saved as a young girl and reconfirmed her salvation to her son, Tommy, on April 14, 1985.

Mrs. George leaves three sons: Dr. Charles George and his wife, Ellen, of Orlando, Fla., and Tom George and his wife, Martha, and Joe George, all of Germantown, Tenn.; five grandchildren: Lisa George, Laura George Wolter, Richard George, David George and Cheryl Leventhal; two great-grandchildren: Will and Jay; a brother, Johnny Manning of Roswell, New Mexico; and three nephews: Jerry George of Paxey River, Maryland, Jim George of Oroville, Calif., and Glenn George of Crockett, Calif.

Funeral services for Mrs. George were held Wednesday, April 14, 1993 at the John W. German Funeral Chapel in Steele with Rev. James F. McCrary and Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Eddie Rinehart, Johnnie Carter, Howard Burns, Eddie Gilbert, Kyle Lollar and Carl Johnson.
