Mr. John Aaron Jordan, 89, of Lake City, died early Monday morning, November 12, 2012 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lake City following a brief illness. A native of Homerville, Georgia, Mr. Jordan had been a resident of Lake City for the past thirty years having moved back here from Fargo, Georgia. Mr. Jordan was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during W.W. II. He worked for and retired from the Florida Department of Transportation as a soil testing driller. Mr. Jordan was a member of the V.F.W. in Homerville, Georgia and the Higher Heights Christian Fellowship Church in Fargo, Georgia. In his spare time Mr. Jordan enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and was an avid deer hunter. He was preceded in death by two brothers and his wife of 64 years Myrtle C. Jordan.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his sons, Audy Jordan(Diane); Earl Jordan(Avis) and his daughter, Gail Merritt all of Lake City, Florida; his brother, Henry Jordan(Ruby) of Albermarle, North Carolina; and a sister, Vashtie Wallace of Tallahassee, Florida. Nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the Chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with Bro. Audy Jordan officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Memorial Cemetery.
