RAVENNA - Eula Mae (Phillips) Young, 96, of Ravenna, formerly of Unionville, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Good Samaritan Home in Ravenna.
Graveside services were today at Unionville Cemetery with the Rev. Kathy Morrison officiating. Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville was in charge of arrangements.
She was born May 1, 1916, in Gosper County to John and Laura (Clark) Phillips.
On Oct. 29, 1935, she married Roy Young in Ogallala. He died July 1, 1991.
Survivors include her brother, Willard Phillips of Kearney; and several nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Beaver City High School in 1934.
Eula was a stay-at-home mother. She moved with her husband around Nebraska, where he worked until they moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1941. They moved to Unionville in 1976 after retirement. Eula moved to Kearney in 1999 to be closer to family.
In Unionville, Eula was a member of the Unionville United Methodist Church and the Unionville Country Club, where she loved to be with the lady golfers.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Eddie Young; daughter-in-law, Jean (Kellison) Young; grandson, Jeffrey Young; sister, Dolly Cross; and brother, Delmar Young.
