Charles W. Taylor, drew a Confederate pension (Texas #17106) in 1909, from Wood County, Texas.

He stated in his pension application that he would be 70 years of age on May 21st 1909 (birth 21 May 1839). This date corresponds with his age (23 in 1862) on his compiled military service records in the National Archives.

He enlisted 8 February 1862, in Company H, of the 14th Regiment (Clark's) of Texas Infantry at Smyrna, Texas.

His widow, Mrs. C. W. (Mary L.) Taylor applied for his confederate pension (Texas #43268) in 1927 from Wood County, TX, giving her residence as Winnsboro, Wood Co., TX.

She stated her husband died 28 March 1910 in Wood County, Texas.

In his widow's pension application she stated that she was born 8 July 1850, in Shreveport (Caddo Parish), Louisiana and that she married Charlie Taylor 20 May 1889 in Bowie County, Texas.

Mary L. Taylor is buried in the same cemetery as Charles W. Taylor.

There is a mortuary warrant in the widow, Mrs. C. H. Taylor that indicates she died 14 February 1932, near the town of Winnsboro, Wood County, Texas at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Floyd Stokes.
