Ellen Tall Knouse Cole, 75, of Bloomsbury, NJ died in Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ on 3/10/1996.
Born on 3/27/1921 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Otis J. Tall, Jr. and Harriett Howell Tall.
She studied art at the Margaret Yard
School of Art in Washington, D.C.,
later attending Kean College in Union, NJ
and Fairleigh Dickinson University in
Madison, NJ.
She was a past President and member of the
Westfield, NJ Art Association,
a founding member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Mountainside, NJ, a member of the National Historical Preservation Society, and a member and former
Registrar of the National Society of the DAR.
She was active in several genealogical societies including: the Howell, Tall, and Bates societies.
She was predeceased by her first
husband, Wayne E. Knouse in 1973.
She was survived by her husband Samuel
L. M. Cole; a son, Richard E. Knouse
and four daughters: Valerie Knouse Kooyker, Kendel Knouse Culton, Betsy Knouse Broughton, and Lisa Knouse Badger.
