Fair Haven, June 19. - Military honors will be paid to Robert West, 95-year-old Civil war veteran, formerly of this town, who died Saturday at the home of his daughter in Glens Falls, N.Y. He was the last surviving member of Bosworth Post, G.A.R. of Fair Haven and was a mason here for many years. His Civil war service was with Company H, 51st N.Y.S. Volunteers, and Company E, 2nd U.S. Cavalry, 1861-1865. He was born in England, December 28, 1844.
The funeral will be held here tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at St. Luke's Episcopal church. Members of the American Post will perform the military honors, with color guard, firing squad and taps. Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery.
Mr. West is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edith Powers of Glens Falls, N.Y.; three sons, Asel West of Castleton, Henry of Glens Falls, N.Y., and Joshua West of Glens Falls, N.Y.
