Dolly H. Cannoy
Dolly Mae Hooper Cannoy, 76, of Martinsville, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
She was born in Georgia on Aug. 5, 1929, to Jim Hooper and Pauline Kirby Hooper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Claude Cannoy; a son, Buddy Wayne Cannoy; and four brothers, Ed Hooper, Thomas Hooper, Boyd Hooper and Buddy Hooper.
She retired from Rumley's Restaurant and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Susie Cannoy Walthall of Martinsville and Glenda Cannoy Pilson of Bassett; two sons, Jimmy Cannoy Jr. and Steve Cannoy, both of Martinsville; three sisters, Blanche Martin of Rocky Mount, Lois O. Hancock of Utah and Linda Jane Smith of Stoneville, N.C.; three brothers, Willie Hooper of Martinsville, Jimmy Hooper of Columbus, Ga. and Ray Hooper of Ridgeway; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services with the Rev. Lewis Harris officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park.
The family is receiving friends at the home of her daughter, Susie Walthall at 60 Quail Oaks Road, Martinsville, and will be at the funeral home from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday to meet with friends before the funeral.
