SALT LAKE CITY, Utah/HUNTSVILLE, Alabama--Nathan Porter, passed away September 3, 1998.

Nathan was born April 14, 1912 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Nathan A. Porter and Elizabeth Boyd Porter. Nathan married Helen Yarbrough, 1942, in Huntsville, Alabama. She preceded him in death, 1990. Nathan married Jane Dooly Gile in 1992, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mr. Porter retired after 31 years from the Huntsville Housing Authority as the Executive Director. Mr. Porter served his country in both World War II and the Korean War, and retired as a US Navy Commander.

Nathan is survived by his wife, Jane Dooly Porter; his children, Walter Young Porter, Sherwood Porter Dinger, Nathan F.S. Porter Jr., Lois Ann Porter and Bonnie Phillips; his sisters, Francis Moulton and Maybelle Gutteridge; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held in Huntsville, Alabama September 8th.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge all those at the University Medical Center for the fine care Nathan has received while living in Salt Lake.
