MOUNT UNION, April 30 - Enoch Madden, an aged and well known resident of this city for a number of years and father of Ira Madden, died yesterday morning, at the home of his son, Frank Madden at Rockhill Furnace, after being in failing health for the past two years. Mr. Madden was born in Springfield township, the son of Richard Madden and Mary Elizabeth (Locke) Madden. He was one of a large family of brothers and sisters, all of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage with Mary Elizabeth Book, who died in this city, nine years ago. Mr. Madden was associated in the meat business with the late Benjamin F. Rinker for a number of years. For some time after retiring from the business, he assisted in the work of the meat market. Surviving are the following sons and daughter; Ira and Charles Madden and Mrs. Myrtle Rorer, all of this city, and Frank Madden of Rockhill Furnace, in whose home he died. Nine grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted from the home of the son at Rockhill Furnace on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. LeRoy Cohick, pastor of the Methodist church of Orbisonia. Burial will follow in the Orbisonia Cemetery.


No gravestones were found at Old Baptist School Church Cemetery for Enoch Madden's parents.
