Arthur Raymond Brooks was a World War I flying ace in The United States Army. A pioneer in radio navigational aids, Captain Brooks also helped to develop air to ground communications as well.

Captain Brooks, while stationed in France, flew the SPAD XIII C.1 which now lives at the National Air & Space Museum.

On September 14, 1918 he shot down four Fokkers, although records have only credited him with having shot down two. He did receive the Distinguished Service Cross for his extraordinary heroism.
